Summer has finally arrived! After a brutal winter it’s nice to finally enjoy some sunshine and tolerable weather. One of my favorite things about summer is that I can actually get outside for my workouts — running, biking or even a playground workout.
Playground workouts have become increasingly popular and for good reason! The only equipment needed is a playground, they can be done outside, and you can workout while your kiddos play — a great combination! Not only are playground workouts simple, they’re effective too!
Let’s take a look at this week’s workout, “The Play Time Workout.” This workout contains 7 different exercises.
- Squat Jumps 25x
- Core Pull Up 10x
- Bulgarian Lunge 25x
- Push-up to TÂ 20x
- Triceps Dips 30x
- Bench Hop Overs 12x
- Biceps Pull Up 12x
The best part about this workout? Each exercise can be done on the playground. All you need is a bar, step and something to jump over. Each exercise has a different number of repetitions but you’ll repeat the circuit 4x through and can add a 5th round if you’re feeling up to it.
For an added bonus try jogging to and from the park. You’ll get extra cardio and a nice warm-up for your workout!
