Spending time in the outdoors is one of the best things about the summertime.

Camping trips mean you can cook over an open fire, explore nature and sleep under the stars. Of course, you may also be swatting away mosquitoes, dealing with sunburn and trying to stay dry inside your tent when it rains. In the end, camping is always an adventure. Whether you’re taking an RV with the family, pitching a tent at your favorite national park or hiking deep into the woods all by yourself – one thing is for sure – memories will be made.

Natural Healthy Concepts has teamed up with NOW Foods to put together a prize package complete with items you can use on your summer camping excursions or any outdoor adventure! All you have to do is tell us about the one thing you would never forget at home before you hit the road.

What You Can Win!

 The Grand Prize:

One lucky person will get an amazing package of camping gear and goodies. Here’s what it includes… north-face-backpack

1. North Face Hiking Backpack This high-quality 50 liter backpack – The North Face Terra 50 Technical Pack – is ideal for taking everything you need with you on your back. It is designed for comfort and has enough space for you to spend multiple days on the trail.

swiss-army-knife2. Trekker Swiss Army Knife This is the perfect multi-tool for camping and hiking. It has 12 different pieces including: a serrated lock-blade, Phillips screwdriver, can opener with small screwdriver, cap lifter with screwdriver, wire stripper, reamer, tweezers, toothpick, wood saw and key ring.

lantern3. Kelty Luma Trail Lantern Don’t get left in the dark during your outdoor adventure! This lightweight camping lantern is an excellent second light source – especially on those dark, moonless nights. It’s also perfect for grabbing and walking from the fire to the tent and reading before bed.

now-foods-essentials4. NOW Foods Camping Essentials NOW Foods offers tons of great products – much more than just vitamins and supplements. As our partner in this summer sweepstakes, NOW has generously provided some of their own items that are ideal for camping.

These will include:

You’re going to need lots of energy when you’re adventuring in nature. The nutrition you’ll get from the NOW Foods products above will keep you going, while keeping your body nourished.

herbal-armor-family-size5. All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent (Family Size) Keep those mosquitoes, ticks and other nasty biting bugs away! This all-natural insect repellent is one of the best you’ll find. It has received positive reviews in the New York Times as well as National Geographic Adventurer, which even gave this bug spray a “Best Gear Award” in 2006. It’s DEET free so you don’t have to worry about putting potentially toxic chemicals on yourself or your family.

Want to find out what a real mom really thinks about Herbal Armor? Check out the blog post from Laura DeLuca at the NewAgeMama Blog.

Not only did she try Herbal Armor to find out if it kept mosquitoes off her kids, she also tested some all-natural sunscreen and hand sanitizer. Click Here to read the article and get Laura’s review of three All Terrain products.

Coghlans6. Coghlan Camping Essentials To round out this awesome prize package, we’ve included a few useful items from Coghlan for outdoor fun and safety.

  • 1 bag of NOW Foods Energy Nut Mix
  • 1 bag of NOW Foods Tropical Fruit Dices
  • 1 bottle of NOW’s Aloe Soothing Gel

Total retail value of the the 3rd place prize is approximately $31.

How to Play:

Entering this sweepstakes is easy! All you have to do is leave a comment and tell us about the one item you absolutely must-have with you on any camping trip. It could be kind of like that luxury item that contestants of the reality show Survivor take with them. It could be a certain vitamin, supplement, a probiotic or drink mix that you rely on to stay in good health. Or maybe it’s something as simple as your pillow…

Here’s a little twist…

Participants who choose an item that’s available at Natural Healthy Concepts – like sunscreen, trail mix, dry shampoo, travel-sized toiletries or energy bars – will have their entries counted twice. That means you will double your chance of winning!

Some Good Places to Start:

Just leave a comment below and tell us what your one special item would be – and why you’d never forget it. Pick a product from our website and you’ve got an even better chance to win!

Some Guidelines:

  • Only one entry/comment per person. Duplicates will be disqualified.
  • Make sure to enter a valid email address so we can contact winners.
  • If you pick a product from Natural Healthy Concepts – leave a link to the product page in your comment.

We’ll announce the winners on Tuesday July 15th! Winners will be notified by email and results will be posted on this article.

Good Luck and Happy Camping!

That’s easy! Argentyn 23 First Aid Gel, 1 Oz, Natural Immunogenics

Fantastic for cleaning up scrapes, cuts, and insect bites. We were camping in the middle of no where last summer and our son fell while climbing on the rocks and cut his hip. So reassuring to use the silver to clean the wound — who knows what icky bugs were in the dirt… I keep a bottle of Argentyn silver gel in my toiletries kit ‘just to be safe’. And I swear this helps cuts heal faster..

Without question its All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent! Camping fun is all about adapting your cooking/sleeping/play adventures to the weather. But whatever the weather, its the bugs that can really put a damper on an outdoor good time. This formula keeps the critters away, and does not bring on the headaches or sour stomach the way that DEET-based products can – a real plus for both adult and child campers.

I would never leave for a camping trip without my Byer folding camp seat. It’s a nightstand at night; it’s a quick table by my chair at the fire; it goes to the shower with me to keep stuff off the floor… you get the idea!

I am so excited about this giveaway! I would absolutely love to win the backpack!

    • Kim July 7, 2014 at 8:06 pm #

I misread that I needed to write *any* item, not just from the giveaway that I couldn’t live without on a camping trip. I have to be honest, I can forage for food and find water, but I wouldn’t be able to find a sleeping bag…So that’s my answer, a sleeping bag! 🙂

  145. teri s July 7, 2014 at 8:02 pm #

I wouldn’t be without bug repellant, like the Herbal Armor ( http://www.naturalhealthyconcepts.com/herbal-armor-family-insect-spray-AT8.html )! Already had Lyme disease–don’t want it again. Protect yourself and your family!

  148. Jill S. July 7, 2014 at 8:21 pm #

I would choose Biter Fighter Deet Free Insect Repellent in Lemongrass.Nothing ruins a camping adventure faster than pesky mosquitoes and bugs! Yikes! This repellent would keep my skin bite-free, without that awful smell of other bug sprays! Yipee!

I would have to say Herbal Armor Natural Insect Repellent 🙂

  253. Crystal July 8, 2014 at 2:59 pm #

It would defiantly be the All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent!!.. I have Late Stage Chronic Lyme Disease and several Co-Infections along with it so I don’t need any more health issues due to pesky bug bites! plus I don’t want what happened to me to also happen to my loved ones. and the best part is it is all natural! no other chemicals to upset my already sensitive body. 🙂 on a side note thank you Natural Healthy Concepts for all you do and for having really good prices!

Cayenne Pepper is the one thing I wouldn’t go camping without having with me. If you get a cut or a wound of any size pour cayenne into it. It will feel like it is burning (with no harm)as it draws the blood to the area for healing. It stops the bleeding right away. This includes a bloody nose. It may help in the case of a heart attack while getting emergency help, with digestion, blood circulation, and a whole host of things. Read about it yourself. It an amazing herb that God has given to us for our use. I don’t leave home without it.
I looked to see if you sell it,and you do, but I don’t know how to put a link to it. If you didn’t I would have suggested that you do.
