Replace Your Junk Food With These Healthy Turmeric Snack Foods

Turmeric-Snack-Foods-Healthy-Treats

Turmeric is a versatile, flavorful, and nutritious spice that adds color to your dishes and is also good for you.

You’re probably familiar with turmeric if you enjoy curry sauce or you’re taking your daily turmeric supplement. While great in entrees and as a supplement, it’s not often that people think about turmeric as an ingredient in their snack foods.

Sugar, flour, fried starches, dried fruit, cinnamon, nuts, and chocolate chips are common mainstays on the ingredient list of our snack foods of choice. But why no turmeric?

Below are a few of our favorite turmeric snack food recipes that are nutritious and flavorful that you should try.

Turmeric Chips (Fries) and Dipping Sauce

You don’t have to quit fried starches if you love them, you just need to rethink how they’re made. Thanks to Delightful Vegans for this recipe. First, and most important, no more store bought or fast-food french fries or tater tots. These are often made by dunking the cut potatoes in boiling vegetable oils, which creates a tasty but way too unhealthy final product soaked in saturated fats.

Instead, you’re going to take your chopped fries, sprinkle them with turmeric powder, salt, and pepper to taste, then spritz or drizzle with olive oil before adding them to an air fryer or placing them in the oven.

This method leaves the chips (fries) not only crispy but also offers a healthier alternative to other preparation methods. Oh, and don’t forget the dipping sauce.
