Tonight seven year old Ashley is going to bed hungry. Today she looked like a typical first grader going off to school with playful neighborhood children. What you don’t know or see is that Ashley is 1 of 4 children sadly impacted by hunger and in desperate need of help that may or may not come…
If you believe that no child in America should go hungry, join Natural Healthy Concepts and Share Our Strength, the national movement of caring people  dedicated and committed to ending childhood hunger in America by 2015. Share Our Strength is a national non-profit that helps get healthy meals to children via their No Kid Hungry⢠Campaign.
Somalia’s famine, the first official famine declared by the United Nations since 1984, is devastating! Sadly and equally disturbing is that you don’t have to look beyond our own American shores to see hunger and helpless children like Ashley. More than 17 million American kids lack reliable access to food. Nearly 1 in 4 children is touched by hunger, starving their stomach, body, development, health, and their energy to play and learn. A hungry child falls behind! It doesn’t have to be this way…
Share Our Strengthâs No Kid Hungry Campaign operates on four key fronts:
Creating public-private partnerships at the state level to break down barriers that prevent kids from accessing the food they need.
Feeding hungry kids where they live, learn, and play. In 2009, thanks to a lot of team work, we helped provide 4.5 million more meals to needy children. Did you know that 14 million kids who are eligible miss out on summer meals when schools are closed? And less than half of eligible children get free or reduced-price school breakfast.
Educating children and families about nutrition and healthy eating. Through Share Our Strength’s Cooking Mattersâ¢, we have reached nearly 60,000 families, spreading knowledge on how to budget for groceries and cook great tasting and nutritious foods.
Building awareness of the childhood hunger crisis and a drive for change among all Americans. Using as many channels as possible we are making No Kid Hungry a shared national priority.

Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungryâ¢Â is personal to me and my work team. I have a niece who works as an elementary school counselor in an impoverished school district in Wisconsin. They participate in “buddy backpack”. One of the many Share Our Strength programs supports backpack programs around the U.S. The backpack program identifies chronically hungry children and provides them with a pack of good food each Friday to last through the weekend.
Healthy nutrition is our paramount mission at Natural Healthy Concepts, the reason we are eager and ready to join the cause! During the months of August and September, we will contribute  a corporate donation of  5% from all orders of Kids Health and Best Multivitamins products to Share Our Strength. Share Our Strength is a registered 501(c)(3) private, nonprofit organization located in Baltimore Maryland (800) 969-4767. Follow us on Natural Healthy Concepts blog, Facebook, and Twitter during August and September to check our fundraising progress.
Think about this – $1 can help connect a child to up to 10 healthy meals!Â
PLEASE believe that no child in America should go hungry and unite with us, Natural Healthy Concepts, to help make No Kid Hungry a reality! PLEASE order at Natural Healthy Concepts, donate, gift or pledge to do more than you ever thought you could to help every child, regardless of circumstances, get the healthy food they need to thrive.  Maybe Ashley wouldn’t go to bed hungry tomorrow!
