Announcing Our Step-by-Step Guide for a 7-Day Detox

7-Day-Detox-Guide

Many people ask me about detoxification, especially at this time of year. They are looking for a way to cleanse themselves and start off the New Year in a healthy way.

But they are also aware that the topic remains somewhat controversial in medical practice.

Many conventional medical experts do not see the need for additional cleansing of the body, as they say it is capable of maintaining itself. In an ideal world, I think that would be true. I don’t know about you, but my food intake isn’t always ideal; and my diet is probably better than most. Not only do we regularly consume toxins in our food, we may not be providing the best nutrition to support the detoxification process.

While the body does have a built-in detoxification process, it can only do so much given the nutrients it has to work with. That’s right, proper nutrients are necessary for the body to break down and eliminate toxins. So think for a moment, what nutrients are you supplying your body?

Just think about the high number of chemicals we are exposed to each day in the water we drink, the food we eat, the air we breathe, the carpets we walk on, the cleaning products we use, the skin care products we lather on, etc. It seems logical that our systems could use a hand, especially if we aren’t nurturing it everyday.

If you are new to the concept of cleansing, the detoxification process has been defined this way:

Detoxification is the biochemistry of handling potentially harmful chemicals that appear within the system and which must be neutralized before they pass from the body. It handles waste not only from the environment, but also from every process in all the organs and systems of the body.

The liver pretty much runs the show here, with assistance from the kidneys, skin and intestines. It handles phase one and phase two detoxification. The liver’s pathways must be working properly for toxins to be broken down and excreted.

When things like aging and toxic overload interfere with the body’s natural ability to process toxins, I suggest that clients try a cleanse or detox program, to help the body do its job.

Just a moment ago, I asked you to think about what nutrients you regularly supply your body for the cleansing process. Now check out this infographic for the nutrients necessary.

You may be thinking, “That’s too restrictive,” or “That’s too hard,” but that’s really not the case.

While you do have to eliminate harmful foods, there are many healthy foods that will keep you satisfied during your cleanse. In addition, you’ll need to drink plenty of water, get enough rest and, in general, take good care of yourself. Things you should be doing anyway – not so bad, right?

The most common objection, however, is the fact that the medical community does not embrace cleansing. Unfortunately, they send a confusing message. While conventional medicine does not give the green flag to detox, it does acknowledge, that environmental factors can play a significant role in many illnesses, according to medical-dictionary.com.

Although you may not think about it very much, toxins really do affect the body on many levels. Our highly polluted environment has taken its toll on many of us. That’s why I feel it is so important to share some tips about detox; so everyone who wants to assist their bodies in eliminating toxins can do so in an appropriate manner.

That being said, let’s take a look at what the benefits are of a natural, gentle and nutritionally balanced detox:

Physical benefits*

  • May support the function of your affected organs, especially the liver and stomach.
  • May support your immune system.
  • May support your energy levels.
  • May support a sensation of feeling “lighter.”
  • May support blood circulation.

Mental benefits*

  • May support sleep.
  • May support concentration.
  • May support ambition.

Lifestyle benefits*

  • You may jump-start your body for a more active life.
  • You may find that you change your lifestyle to remove bad elements, such as smoking, eating poorly and not exercising.
  • The sweat that exercise produces may assist in toxin elimination from the body.

These are some of the benefits you may experience after a cleanse. If that’s not enough motivation, read this article detailing the reasons why you might detox, personal benefits aside.
