Oh, October. There’s so much that I love about the month of October. It’s always signified the beginning of fall for me, but there are other things I love, too. Postseason baseball. Preseason hockey. Badger football.
And then there are pumpkins.
I love everything about pumpkins. The beautiful, rich orange colors, the fun shapes they sometimes grow into, and, of course, carving them with family. What I love the most though, is the taste of pumpkin.
Thinking Outside the Recipe Box
The most famous use for pumpkin is likely in pie. Pumpkin pie is a staple in the fall, and especially at Thanksgiving gatherings. I’m a fan of pumpkin pie. I’m also a fan of other regular recipes that use pumpkin, including pumpkin bars and pumpkin bread.
But what about other delicious recipes that call for everyone’s favorite fall fruit? (Did you know pumpkin is a fruit? I didn’t until recently!)
