5 Essential Oil Blends to Try This Holiday Season!

Essential oils not only create wonderful aromas in your home, they offer a variety of potential therapeutic health benefits!

When I learned that bacteria, mold, viruses, germs and odor can’t live in the presence of many essential oils, I started diffusing a thieves oil blend in my home.

I love the smell! But then again – I love the smell of so many different oils and combinations.

There’s just no reason to burn synthetic scented candles or spray potentially toxic air fresheners, when you can diffuse 100% pure essences from plants and botanicals into the air.

blues-relief-blendI was so excited when Natural Healthy Concepts started carrying these Now Foods Ultrasonic Wooden Oil Diffusers. They are so much more affordable than the DoTerra or Young Living diffusers – and they are practically the same thing!

I’ve used a candle lamp for a while now, and I’ve also tried the plug-in wall diffuser. They both worked quite well.

But, there’s nothing quite like the advanced atomization technology of an ultrasonic diffuser.

It uses high-frequency vibrations to create a cool, ultra-fine aromatherapy mist that actually maintains the integrity and holistic properties of the natural extracts you put in it.

Plus, this one is attractive, BPA-Free, color changing, super easy to clean, extremely quiet, very safe and it shuts off by itself after eight hours!

You just need some essential oils, a diffuser and some water and you can start creating a soothing, therapeutic atmosphere in your home – especially during the holiday season. It’s super easy!

  • Always be sure to research if the specific oils you are using are safe for children under 10 years of age.

Get yourself a diffuser and give some of these essential oils recipes a try during the holidays. Or even make your own healthy-to-breathe room spray for bathroom – or give it as a gift!

1. Energizing Essential Oil Blend

Energizing-Blend

We all know how exhausting the holiday season can get. We work so hard to plan, clean, decorate, shop, wrap gifts and make food for all of our celebrations!

Why not create an atmosphere full of energy in your home to help you through all the hustle and bustle.

Peppermint is uplifting, lemon is refreshing and cheerful and frankincense is centering – which is perfect to help you focus and relax.

2. Calming Essential Oil Blend

Calming-Blend

I know for sure this essential oil blend is safe to have around children, a definite plus. But – kids or no kids – if you want to have a calming environment in your home – try this blend!

Roman chamomile can help ease nervousness and anxiety (even PMS) while lavender is soothing, normalizing and balancing.

This blend is for those of you who want a soft, clean and calming aroma flowing through your home.

3. Gratitude Essential Oil Blend

Diffuse this recipe, or even try making your own room spray! If you want to get really creative, try making a cute little label and give someone you love a handcrafted bottle of spray for their bathroom. Whatever you choose to do with it, it’s a great choice for the holiday season.

Bergamot is stimulating, grapefruit is sweet and uplifting, cypress is relaxing and refreshing, frankincense is centering, ylang ylang is exhilarating and ginger is spicy and warm.

Mix that all together for a sense of gratitude. What a perfect blend to compliment the spirit of giving.

4. Fruit & Spice Essential Oil Blend

Here’s another blend that makes a great room spray for the holidays.

Simply combine the warm and spicy aroma of cinnamon and the sweet and citrus scent of oranges and lemon with the comforting smell of cloves.

You’ll have a fruit and spice blend that’s worth sharing – or at least inhaling!

5. For a Cold Essential Oil Blend

For-a-cold-Blend

It happens to the best of us… you feel yourself coming down with a cold right before the big family get-together. Or, before you’re supposed to host a house full of company!

Maybe it’s the combination of stress and weather changes that have taken a toll on your immune system.

But thankfully, this essential oil blend can help you breathe through it all.

Cinnamon is warm and spicy, rosemary is purifying and uplifting, pine is refreshing and white thyme is empowering and pleasant.

It’s actually the natural compounds found in rosemary that have strong cleansing properties making it ideal for anyone who needs a helpful boost to their immune system.
